Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Wednesday’s trading session on a sideways note.
The benchmark EGX30 index fell by 0.54%, ending the session at 14,709 points.
On the other hand, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 index rose by 0.2% to 544.82 points, while the broader EGX100 index edged up 0.01% to 1,452 points.
Meanwhile, the EGX50 index declined by 0.27% to 2,111 points.
Market capitalisation lost about EGP 1.81 billion to close at EGP 733.15 billion on Wednesday from EGP 734.96 billion on Tuesday.
Trading volume amounted to 140.56 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 2.45 billion through around 22,990 transactions.
Egyptian investors were net sellers with EGP 1.299 billion, while Arab and foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 155.24 million and EGP 1.14 billion, respectively.
