EGX ends Wednesday in green; market cap down EGP 13.8bn

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Wednesday’s trading session in the green territory on the back of Arab purchases.

The main EGX30 index rose by 0.23% to end at 10,806 points, while the small and mid-cap EGX70 EWI advanced by 0.48% to 2,241 points.

Similarly, the EGX100 EWI increased by 0.43% to 3,200 points and the EGX50 EWI climbed by 1.07% to 2,205 points.

The market cap value plunged by EGP 13.82 billion to close at EGP 665.844 billion.

Local and foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 26.8 million and EGP 38.5 million, respectively, while Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 66.3 million.

The market’s turnover reached EGP 1.82 billion after 766.22 million shares were exchanged through 62,645 transactions.
