EGX ends Tuesday varied; market cap loses EGP 1.28bn

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Tuesday's trading session on a mixed note as the main EGX30 index was the sole riser with 0.79%, ending the mid-week session at 11,588 points. 

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI slid by 1.05% to 2,186 points, while the EGX100 EWI fell by 0.97% to 3,164 points.

Meanwhile, the EGX50 EWI declined by 1.14%% to end at 2,036 points.

The market cap lost EGP 1.28 billion to close at EGP 734.28 billion on Tuesday, compared to EGP 735.56 billion on Monday. 

Local and foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 14.25 million and EGP 24.81 million, respectively, while Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 39.07 million. 

The market's turnover stood at EGP 810.52 million after 253.1 million shares were exchanged through about 35,780 transactions.
