EGX ends Tuesday up; market cap gains EGP 2.7bn

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Tuesday’s trading session on a positive note on the back of local and Arab purchases.

The main EGX30 index rose by 0.21%, ending the mid-week session at 10,764 points.

Likewise, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI advanced by 1.13% to 1,376 points, while the broader EGX100 EWI went up by 1.01% to 2,146 points.

In the meantime, the equal-weighted EGX50 index increased by 0.87% to close at 1,663 points.

The market cap value climbed by EGP 2.7 billion to EGP 582.2 billion.

Local and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 88.2 million and EGP 31.2 million, respectively, while foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 119.5 million.

The market’s turnover registered EGP 1.1 billion after 358.5 million shares were exchanged through around 41,500 transactions.
