EGX ends Tuesday in green; market cap grows EGP 1.17bn

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Tuesday’s trading session in the green territory on the back of Arab and foreign purchases.

The main EGX30 index edged up by 0.06% to close at 11,534 points after the heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) slightly dropped by 0.07% to EGP 60.9 with a turnover of EGP 28.7 million.

Likewise, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI rose by 0.65% to 2,416 points, while the EGX100 EWI increased by 0.63% to 3,453 points.

Meanwhile, the EGX50 EWI climbed by 0.6% to 2,412 points.

The market cap value grew by EGP 1.17 billion to close at EGP 706.625 billion.

Local investors were net sellers with EGP 42.04 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 25.6 million and EGP 16.42 million, respectively.

The market’s turnover registered EGP 1.37 billion after 414.45 million shares were exchanged through around 47,140 transactions.
