Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Tuesday’s trading session up on the back of foreign purchases.
The benchmark EGX30 index has extended its early gains and rose by 0.61%, finishing the session at 13,154.56 points.
The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index levelled up 0.59% t0 650.62 points, whereas the broader EGX100 index added 0.67% to 1,708.38 points.
The equal-weighted EGX50 index jumped 1.11% to 2,090.96 points.
Trading volume amounted to nearly 218.25 million shares exchanged through 24,770 transactions at a turnover of EGP 740.57 million.
Foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 42.01 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 24.79 million and EGP 17.21 million, respectively.
Market capitalisation closed the session at EGP 747.6 billion and gained EGP 4.4 billion.
