Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Thursday’s trading session on a positive note on the back of local purchases.
The main EGX30 index edged up by 0.01% to 11,546 points as the heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) inched down by 0.07% to EGP 61 after generating EGP 23.8 million in turnover.
Likewise, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI rose by 0.73% to 2,452 points, while the EGX100 EWI increased by 0.56% to 3,488 points.
Meanwhile, the EGX50 EWI advanced by 0.77% to 2,434 points.
The market cap value grew by EGP 1.55 billion to close at EGP 707.887 billion.
Local investors were net buyers with EGP 97.68 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 46.84 million and EGP 50.8 million, respectively.
The market’s turnover amounted to EGP 1.56 billion after 571.411 million shares were exchanged through about 52,530 transactions.
