EGX ends Monday in green as Emerald makes trading debut

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Monday's trading session on a positive note as Emerald Development & Projects Management's stock made its trading debut and the public and private offerings of e-finance were executed at a value of EGP 5.8 billion. 

The main EGX30 index rose by 1.08% to end at 11,276 points, while the small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI increased by 0.75% to 2,659 points.

Meanwhile, the EGX100 EWI grew by 0.86% to 3,641 points and the EGX50 EWI advanced by 1.17%% to end at 2,326 points.

On the first day of its trading, Emerald's stock jumped by 23.2% to EGP 1.577 after 8.46 million shares were exchanged at a turnover of EGP 12.53 million. 

The market cap value increased by EGP 6.14 billion to close at EGP 723.596 billion.

Local investors were net sellers with EGP 3.9 billion, while foreign and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 2.54 billion and EGP 1.36 billion, respectively. 

The market's turnover amounted to EGP 1.38 billion after 401.66 million shares were exchanged through nearly 40,900 transactions.
