Cairo – Mubasher: The EGX30 benchmark index of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Thursday’s session higher by 0.99% at 10,548.14 points.
The EGX50 EWI rose by 2.10% to 1,833.79 points.
Similarly, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI gained 4.72% to close at 1,831.32 points. EGX100 EWI also went up by 3.78% to 2,767.75 points.
EGX’s trading value amounted to EGP 968.35 million after 465.46 million shares were traded, compared to EGP 579.75 million and 189.44 million shares in the prior session. The market cap value totalled EGP 688.87 billion.
As for trading on securities, Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 28.35 million and EGP 148.19 million, respectively, while foreign traders were net sellers with EGP 176.55 million.
EGX will be closed for two days in a row next week on Sunday and Monday, 24-25 April, on the occasion of the Coptic Easter and Sinai Liberation holidays. Trading will resume on Tuesday, 26 April.
