EGX closes Sunday in green on local buying

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Sunday’s trading session on a positive note.

The benchmark EGX30 index went up 0.44%, finishing the session at 14,122.1 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index increased by 0.22% to close at 622.16 points, while the broader EGX100 index rose by 0.27% to 1,584.05 points.

Similarly, the equal-weighted EGX50 index levelled up 1.02% to close at 2,138.09 points.

Trading volume registered nearly 69.5 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 555 million through around 10,500 transactions.

Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 23.7 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 18.4 million and EGP 5.3 million, respectively.

Market capitalisation gained EGP 2.8 billion to EGP 768.8 billion.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) fell by 0.63% to EGP 73.4 at a turnover of EGP 14 million.

Meanwhile, Qalaa Holdings led rising blue chips with 6.23%, while Cairo Investment and Real Estate Development headed falling blue chips after sliding 5.17%.
