Dubai – Mubasher: Dubai-based Ducab plans to increase its exports to reach 40% of the total production in 2017 as compared to 35% last year, according to the company’s Chairman Ahmad Al Shaikh.
The company started recently to export the production of its new plant for manufacturing aluminum rods and conductors for overhead transmission lines to Lebanon, with plans to export other shipments to other countries in the Gulf region, Africa and Europe, Al Shaikh added.
Started to be operational in the fourth quarter of 2016, the company’s Abu Dhabi-based plant is valued at AED 220 million ($60 million).
The cable manufacturer accounts for 25% of the total electric wire and cable market in the UAE, Al Shaikh noted.
