UAE - Mubasher: Dubai's Consumer Confidence Index registered 145 points during the first quarter (Q1) of 2021, up from 139 points in the year-ago period and 142 points in the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2020.
In Q1-21, Dubai's Consumer Confidence Index, focusing on consumer's perceptions on the overall economy, has reached its highest level since the second quarter (Q2) of 2015, according to a press release on Wednesday.
A total of 84% of consumers are optimistic about the overall economy during the next 12 months and 87% of them witness an improved chance of getting a job, the index showed.
The CEO of the Commercial Compliance and Consumer Protection (CCCP) Sector in Dubai Economy, Mohammed Ali Rashed Lootah, said: "The Index also shows that optimism on current personal finance conditions is particularly high among Emiratis at 89%, while 87% Arab expatriates are the most optimistic about an improvement in personal finance during the next 12 months."
