UAE - Mubasher: The Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management in Dubai has eased travel restrictions for inbound passengers from South Africa, Nigeria, and India, effective from 23 June 2021, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.
Under the new protocols, passengers from India with a valid residence visa who have received two doses of a UAE-approved vaccine will be allowed to enter Dubai.
The passengers from India should also bring a negative PCR test certificate, taken 48 hours before departure; however, UAE nationals are exempted from this requirement.
As for South Africa, the new protocols enable passengers, who have taken two doses of a UAE-approved vaccine and will present a negative PCR result taken within 48 hours before departure, to enter the emirate.
Meanwhile, passengers from Nigeria must submit a negative test result for a PCR test taken 48 hours prior to departure to enter Dubai.
Passengers from the three countries must also undergo a PCR test upon their arrival in Dubai and institutional quarantine until they receive their PCR test result.
Meanwhile, the UAE's General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) have suspended the entry of travellers coming from Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Namibia, effective from Monday, 21 June.
It is noteworthy to mention that in April, the UAE has banned all incoming flights from India where a highly contagious coronavirus variant has been identified.
