Dubai bourse adds 18 pts Thursday

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market’s (DFM) general index rose 17.99 points, or 0.58%, to close at 3,108.53 points on Thursday.

The DFM’s trading volume surged 231.67 million shares from 148.7 million on Wednesday, while the market’s liquidity increased to AED 295.45 million through 2,866 transactions, versus AED 213.9 million in the previous session. 

The industrial sector soared 9.68% after National Cement Company (NCC) skyrocketed 9.68%, while the consumer staples sector jumped 5.03%, backed by DXB Entertainments which surged 6.11%.

The transportations sector added 1.33%, as Aramex gained 3.29%.

The real estate sector went up 1.07%, as Emaar Malls, Arabtec Holding, Union Properties, Emaar Properties, and Deyaar Development increased by 2.38%, 2.29%, 1.52%, 1.4%, and 1.28%, respectively.

In a similar vein, the investment sector rose 0.79% after Shuaa and Dubai Investments levelled up 1.94% and 0.48%, respectively.

On the negative side, the banks sector inched down 0.01% after Emirates NBD lost 0.46%.

Emaar Properties led the market in terms of liquidity, with a turnover of AED 94.23 million through 656 transactions, and 16.26 million traded shares.
