Dubai-Mubasher: Passenger traffic through Dubai International Airport rose 6.1% year-on-year to reach 7.73 million people in August, according to a report issued by Dubai Airports on Monday.
Traffic grew 6.9% to 55.859 million passengers in the first eight months of 2016, compared to 52.264 million passengers in the prior-year period.
Growth of passenger traffic in August is mainly driven by the end of summer vacation and the beginning of a new school year.
Dubai International declined 3.1% year-on-year to 201,100 tonnes of freight in August, while cargo rose 2.4% to 1.69 million tonnes.
