Dubai Nakheel mulls new global partnerships

Dubai – Mubasher: Nakheel properties is currently mulling over a slew of offers from global hospitality companies which are keen on forging strategic partnerships to benefit from available lands in 'Deira Island', Nakheel chairman Ali Rashid Ahmed Lootah said.

Investors are interested in investment feasibility in Dubai in general and Nakheel's development areas in particular, he added.

The company has managed to sign AED500 million deals with three of the world's largest hotel chains with top brands from a total amount of AED1.2 billion to set up three tourist resorts in the Deira Island, the top official of Dubai developer said.

The new resorts would comprise 2,000 rooms, Ali Lootah noted.

Nakheel last inked cooperation agreements with Centara Hotels & Resorts, Thai-owned Minor Hotels and Spain's RIU Hotels & Resorts.

Under these agreements, the hospitality companies bear 40% of the cost of new projects, while Nakheel bears the remaining 60%.
