UAE - Mubasher: Dubai Duty Free achieved sales of AED 646.23 million ($177 million) during August 2025, up 15% year-on-year (YoY) from AED 561.53 million ($153.84 million).
The higher sales surpassed the record of AED 588.13 million ($161 million) registered the same month of 2018, according to a press release.
On a daily basis, the sales averaged AED 20.80 million ($5.70 million), serving around 275,000 passengers.
In August 2025, the spend per passenger rose by nearly $4, while the penetration rate went up by 0.50% percentage points (PP) when compared to last August.
Ramesh Cidambi, Managing Director at Dubai Duty Free, commented: “I am particularly pleased that, based on our internal daily tracking, sales have outpaced passenger growth by about 9%, a remarkable achievement that highlights the outstanding efforts of the entire team.”
Dubai Duty Free’s year-to-date (YTD) sales hit AED 5.40 billion ($1.48 billion), marking a growth of 6.90% from 2024, boosted by its diverse product range and premium retail offerings.
In 2024, Dubai Duty Free recorded a new annual turnover of AED 7.9 billion ($2.16 billion).
