Dubai CommerCity partners with Magento, Redbox to boost e-commerce growth

UAE - Mubasher: Dubai CommerCity (DCC), the first e-commerce free zone in the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia (MENASA) region, has partnered with Magento Commerce and Redbox Digital to offer ‘E-Commerce as-a-Service’.

The partnership agreements will enable Dubai CommerCity customers to have access to e-commerce solutions and services to improve digital experiences, according to a press release on Sunday.

This announcement was made during the 40th GITEX Technology Week, being held on 6-10 December at Dubai World Trade Centre.

‘E-commerce-as-a-Service’ will provide access to key Magento software, payment gateways, third party logistics systems, and marketing affiliates and analytics tools.

Meanwhile, Redbox will introduce various project services such as consultancy, discovery and requirements, as well as building and testing major and minor customisations. 

Commenting on the partnership, the Assistant Director-General of DAFZA and Board Member at Dubai CommerCity, Amna Lootah, said: "The e-commerce retail market in the Middle East & Africa is expected to grow by 20% to reach $26 billion in 2022, which outpaces the global growth of 13%."

The Country Manager at Redbox, Sarmad Hassan, commented: "The Middle East has been experiencing considerable e-commerce growth and unique initiatives like Dubai CommerCity only serve to fuel this boom by providing investment opportunities for retailers across the region."
