Dubai – Mubasher: Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) on Monday announced the formation of the Car Dealers Business Group.
The new business group aims at bringing the voices of member companies together, serving common interests, and encouraging public-private sector dialogue on important matters affecting Dubai’s automotive sector, according to a press release.
The recently formed group will cater to companies operating in the auto sector a supreme platform to express their concerns and share their feedback on regulation impacting industry stakeholders under the supervision of DCCI, the release highlighted.
The Car Dealers Business Group was recently opened in a meeting held at the DCCI’s headquarters in the presence of the chamber’s chairman Majid Saif Al Ghurair and senior Dubai Chamber officials.
The inauguration was also attended by top executives from AWRostamani Automotive Group, Al Ghandi Auto, Galadari Brothers Co, Al Naboodah Automobiles, AGMC, Gargash Enterprises, Hyundai, Al Habtoor Motors, Al Tayer Motors, Union Motors, Al Naboodah Group Enterprises, Galadari Automobiles, KIA, and Al Rostamani Group.
During the meeting, Michel Ayat, CEO of AWRostamani Automotive, has been elected as chairman of the Car Dealers Business Group, the release indicated.
Moreover, member companies have considered a number of key issues, as well as the alignment of the group’s efforts with the government-led initiatives that make use of autonomous vehicles, electric vehicles, and 5G infrastructure.
Additionally, they have discussed the new group’s plans to contribute to existing and future legislation, the release added.
Al Ghurair has depicted the establishment of the Car Dealers Business Group as a key step in lining up major stakeholders’ efforts and bolstering the sector’s competitiveness.
Business groups play a “crucial role” in stepping up sustainable growth in the emirate by mixing between expertise and capabilities, he emphasised.
Al Ghurair further noted that the Car Dealers Business Group would set key obstacles facing car dealers in Dubai and develop innovative solutions to resolve these challenges and share policy recommendations with DCCI and concerned government entities.
For his part, Michel Ayat, chairman of the Car Dealers Business Group, commented: “This is a significant step towards enhancing the overall competitiveness of the UAE automotive industry as it embraces the spirit of public-private partnership to support the authorities with global best practices that will raise the standards of the automotive industry and ensure right regulations for the future.”
