UAE - Mubasher: The exports of Dubai Chamber's members to Eastern Africa rose by 2.4% during the first half (H1) of 2021.
The Chamber has issued 9,134 Certificates of Origin (COOs), valued at $892 million (AED 3.3 billion), for Eastern Africa-bound shipments in H1-21, according to a recent press release.
These figures were published ahead of the Global Business Forum Africa, set to be held on 13-14 October on the sidelines of Expo 2020 Dubai.
Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, and Burundi are the largest Eastern Africa export markets for the Chamber's members, with $78.6 million exports during the first six months of 2021 compared to a year ago.
Dubai Chamber's statistics also referred to a $2.9 billion untapped potential with Eastern Africa's countries, equivalent to 78% of the current export level.
