The first phase of the modernisation project was completed within 10 months, increasing the steel billet production capacity to 250,000 tonnes annually, the minister revealed.

Tawfik stated that the second phase is expected to be completed at the end of 2020 and will add another 250,000 tonnes to the production capacity.

As for the real estate project, Tawfik announced that a contract was signed with Engineering Consultants Group (ECG) for the project and that the primary design was completed.
