Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Customs Authority collected EGP 2.97 billion in taxes, customs duties, and other charges at Dekheila and Ain Sokhna ports during November.
The total value of taxes and customs duties collected for imported goods at Dekheila and Ain Sokhna ports registered EGP 667.49 million last month, the Ministry of Finance said in a statement on Wednesday.
In addition, the value-added tax (VAT) and other charges imposed on the imported goods at the two ports registered EGP 2.29 billion.
The imported goods included wheat, sugar, legumes, maize, components of air conditioners, fridges, fans, fabrics, wood, car spare parts, and mobile accessories.
Additionally, the two ports exported goods that include aluminium, zinc, marble, textiles, sand, phosphate, fibreglass, and food industries at a total value of EGP 3.24 billion. Charges collected for the exported goods reached EGP 11.64 million.
