Abu Dhabi-Mubasher: Dana Gas announced the temporary interruption in the gas flow from the Khor Mor plant that is used to generate power for a province in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, according to a bourse filing on Sunday.
The gas pipeline feeding the Chemchemal and Erbil power stations was ruptured near the sub-district of Shwan in Kirkuk province in the early hours of Friday, 29 January.
The statement added that the impacted section along the pipeline between Chemchemal and Erbil was isolated from the Khor Mor plant and then restarted approximately 8 hours after the incident.
The Khor Mor plant is currently supplying the Chemchemal power plant with gas and is operating normally, albeit with reduced production levels of around 50% of capacity, including liquids production.
A repair plan was developed, contractors mobilised to the site and repair works are already ongoing to restore full production within one week.
