Dana Gas drags ADX into red at open

Abu Dhabi-Mubasher: Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) opened in the red on Monday, weighed by leading stocks in the energy, telecom, banks and real estate sectors.

The general index declined 0.47% or 19.74 points to reach 4,179.13 points by 10:50am

UAE markets are expected to hold at the current levels amid the continuity of its recent volatile sideways trend, analysts told Mubasher.

The energy sector led decliners after falling 3.3%, weighed by Dana Gas which lost 4.17%.

The services sector decreased 1.22% due to a drop in Etisalat by 0.32% to AED 15.65.

The real estate sector levelled down 0.29% as Eshraq Properties and Manazel Real Estate retreated 2% and 1.8%.

The insurance sector slumped 0.03% as Methaq Takaful Insurance decreased to AED 0.64.

The market saw trading of 18.37 million shares through 433 transactions, with turnover of AED 34.36 million.
