UAE - Mubasher: DP World will expand energy efficiency collaboration with Etihad Energy Services Company (Etihad ESCO) for renewable solar power installations across DP World’s assets in the UAE.
Etihad ESCO will enable DP World UAE Region to improve energy efficiencies through energy performance contracting projects, renewables like solar on-grid installations, IT solutions, and smart operational technologies, according to a recent press release.
In addition, Etihad ESCO, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), is working on retrofitting buildings in DP World's Dubai Maritime City, which is expected to save up to 20% in energy consumption of the targeted facilities.
The Managing Director and CEO of DEWA, Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, said: "Since 2015, Etihad ESCO and DP World have collaborated in projects that are actively reducing DP World's carbon footprint and supporting sustainability goals."
Meanwhile, the Group Chairman and CEO at DP World, Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, remarked: "At DP World, we use innovative technologies to ensure that our practices comply with the Green Building programme of the Government of Dubai."
