UAE - Mubasher: DP World has launched a wholesale platform DUBUY.com to offer reliable B2B e-commerce for Kenya and the East Africa region.
The new platform will add new digital trading corridors to the physical corridors established by DP World across Africa with its investment in ports, terminals, and logistics operations, according to a press release on Tuesday.
DP World has eight existing terminals in Africa and three more in development.
This launch has followed the expansion of the innovative online marketplace in Rwanda earlier this year.
The Chief Operating Officer of Dubai Trade World, Mahmood Al Bastaki, said: "With the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) now in effect, the eyes of the world will be on the continent. African businesses are increasingly using digital channels and technologies to engage with suppliers and distributors to create agile supply chains, and digital platforms like DUBUY.com will be key to this shift."
Meanwhile, HSC, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Industrialization, Trade & Enterprise Development Kenya, David Osiany, commented: "This partnership will increase our country’s trading connectivity and build an easy-access market for Kenyan entrepreneurs to secure long-term, sustainable business growth."
