Dubai – Mubasher: DP World has partnered with Expo 2020 Dubai to become a global alliance founding partner of the Earthshot Prize, a major environmental award established by the Duke of Cambridge Prince William, Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported on Thursday.
The Earthshot Prize, an initiative by the Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, has taken inspiration from John F. Kennedy's Moonshot, which united millions of people around the world to put a man on the moon.
The "most prestigious global environment prize in history" will present five awards each year for the next 10 years for “incentivising worldwide change with a decade of action to repair our planet.”
Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and CEO of DP World, said, "At DP World we believe in protecting our people and our planet through world-class safety and environmental standards.”
Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, and Director General of Expo 2020 Dubai, said, "We know that the next ten years mark a crucial period for people and our planet. Living in balance with the earth and its resources is fundamental to the future of billions around the world.”
“Expo 2020 Dubai is a place where nations and people will explore solutions to challenges like climate impact and sustainability, and inspire people to think and act differently to change for the better.”
