DMCC boosts investment ties with China in recent roadshow

UAE – Mubasher: Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Hong Kong-Middle East Business Chamber Limited (HKME) to endorse trade and innovation between the UAE and Chinese sides, according to a press release.

Dubai's flagship free zone DMCC concluded a recent roadshow in Shenzhen and Hong Kong cities in China, boosting new opportunities for foreign direct investment (FDI) from the Asian side.

DMCC Executive Chairman and CEO, Ahmed bin Sulayem, said: “With over $77 billion in non-oil trade recorded last year between China and the UAE, we expect our cooperation to be even further boosted through the UAE’s impending membership of BRICS, which will enhance the strength and capacity of the One Belt One Road initiative.”

DMCC has prioritised attracting Chinese businesses by launching Yingtian Chinese Business Centre DMC in addition to adding a Mandarin version to its website.

Bin Sulayem added: “DMCC has become a preferred destination for Chinese businesses with more than 800 now established in our award-winning community.”
