DFMGI closes higher on stock accumulation Sunday

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market’s (DFM) general index grew 0.2% to 3,048.46 points on Sunday on the back of stock accumulation.

The consumer staples sector added 0.92% after DXB Entertainments went up 1.01% to AED 0.401.

The real estate sector rose 0.6%, as Emaar Malls and Emaar Properties added 1.36% to AED 2.24 and 1.26% to AED 5.64, respectively.

The investment sector gained 0.5% after Shuaa Capital soared 5.7% to AED 1.11, while the transportation sector declined, as Air Arabia and Aramex shed 0.8% and 0.7%, respectively.

The DFM’s trading volume shrank to 119.1 million shares from 142.71 million on Thursday, while the market’s liquidity decreased to AED 131.6 million versus AED 190.55 million in the previous session.

Shuaa Capital topped the market in terms of both volume and value, with 24.69 million shares and a turnover of AED 27.3 million.
