DFM resumes gains, sees 8-session rise

 

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) ended Wednesday, the last trading session in September in the green, resuming gains after a four-session decline, backed by the real estate sector’s Emaar and Arabtec.

The DFMGI climbed 1.09% or 39 points to close at 3,593.3 points, nearing the level of 3,600 points once more. Turnover increased to AED 289.6 million ($78.85 million) compared to AED 291 million ($79.23 million) on Tuesday, while traded volume reached 156.8 million shares against 140 million in the previous session.

Analysts told Mubasher earlier today that UAE stock markets may see some stability on Wednesday as some portfolios and investment funds seek to improve their monthly closings.

The services sector led risers, adding 2.76% after Amanat jumped 3.62%, ranking second top gainer. The real estate sector added 2.06% after Emaar and Arabtec grew 2.54% and 2.2%, respectively.

The telecom sector advanced 1.8% as du saw a similar increase to AED 5.100, while the banking sector inched up 0.07% as Amlak added 2%, whereas Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) and Emirates NBD remained flat.
