DFM ends Thursday on positive note

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) has closed Thursday’s trading session in the green territory, backed by the rising blue-chip stocks.

The DFM’s general index edged up by 0.14% to 2,784.11 points, gaining 3.97 points.

Trading volume amounted to 158.33 million shares that were exchanged at a turnover of AED 200.91 million through 2,210 transactions.

Market capitalisation added AED 327 million and closed the session at AED 368.82 billion.

The consumer staples sector increased by 1.67%, followed by the real estate and the banks sectors that added 0.70% and 0.07%, respectively.

On the other hand, the investment sector was the sole decliner with 1.47%.

The exchange has seen the rise of 11 stocks headed by DXB Entertainments that rose by 2.99%, while the other 16 stocks have fallen and were led by Amlak Finance that fell by 5.15%.

Amlak Finance was the most active stock by volume with 41.68 million traded shares, while Emirates NBD was the most active stock by value with a turnover of AED 35.18 million.
