UAE - Mubasher: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has opened a new substation worth AED 97 million at Al Qusais Industrial Area in Dubai, in collaboration with Wasl Properties.
The new 132/11kV substation is part of DEWA's objective to meet the growing demand of the domestic, commercial, and industrial sectors, according to a press release on Monday.
The substation has a conversion capacity of 150 megavolt-amperes with 2,400 metres of 132kV ground cables to connect it to DEWA’s grid.
The Executive Vice President of Transmission Power at DEWA, Hussain Lootah, said that the new substation uses the latest digital technologies for transmission stations.
The MD & CEO of DEWA, Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, noted that DEWA is implemented electricity transmission network projects at a value exceeding AED 10 billion.
