Cairo – Mubasher: Construction work completed by the public sector surged 16.3% to EGP 23.9 million in fiscal year 2015/2016 from EGP 20.6 million, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) on Monday.
The value of residential buildings levelled up 5.7% to reach EGP 2.5 billion in FY15/16 from EGP 2.4 billion in the fiscal year before.
The value of healthcare buildings reached EGP 302.3 million in FY15/16, versus EGP 306.0 million in the previous fiscal year.
During FY15/16, the value of educational buildings amounted to EGP 533.3 million from EGP 389 million, while roads, bridges, and tunnels rose 12.4% to about EGP 8.7 billion.
The total value of stations and water networks reached EGP 3.3 billion against EGP 2.9 billion, while stations and sewage networks soared 34.9% to EGP 4.9 billion.
