Cairo-based autotech FriendyM raises $2m investment

Cairo - Mubasher: Egypt-based autotech FriendyM has secured a $2 million investment to scale up its services to all governorates across the Arab Republic.

The platform provides its services in several countries, including Saudi Arabia and the UAE, according to a press release.

Founded in 2016 by Abdelrahman Elgamal, FriendyM offers various car services such as maintenance, tracking car expenses, and concierge services, among others.

In line with its expansion and growth plans, the app seeks to reach 100,000 cars in the first year.

FriendyM sends notifications to remind users of the car’s regular maintenance appointments as well as the operations. It also manages car expenses like fuel bills, parking spaces, and cleaning.

Elgamal, Founder and CEO of FriendyM, said: "We also seek to exploit the digital transformation revolution brought about by the Egyptian state to enhance our presence in Egypt, meet the needs of our customers, and provide a unique experience."

He added:  “We aim to reach all segments of society, especially women because they are naturally less experienced in knowing what concerns the technical aspect of the car.”

“Besides, we will work to help them, through our innovative digital solutions, perform periodic and emergency maintenance, and we will provide them with the necessary advice to reach the highest performance of the car,” the CEO concluded.
