CIB's profit rises 22% in H1

Cairo - Mubasher: The Commercial International Bank-Egypt (CIB) achieved consolidated net profits of EGP 6.088 billion in the first half (H1) of 2021, up by 22% year-on-year (YoY) from EGP 4.997 billion, including minority shareholders' rights. 

The net fee and commission income increased to EGP 1.114 billion in the January-June period, compared to EGP 986.160 million in the corresponding period a year earlier, according to a bourse disclosure on Tuesday. 

On the other hand, the net interest income retreated to EGP 11.69 billion in the six-month period from EGP 12.47 billion in the same period in 2020. 

The standalone net profits also grew to EGP 6.077 billion in H1-21 from EGP 5.001 billion in H1-20.

During the first quarter (Q1) of 2021, CIB posted consolidated net profits of EGP 2.873 billion, up from EGP 2.398 billion in Q1-20, including minority shareholders' rights.
