CIB records 30% higher profits in 2021; dividends proposed

Cairo – Mubasher: The consolidated net profits of the Commercial International Bank-Egypt (CIB) jumped by 30% to EGP 13.27 billion in 2021, compared to EGP 10.24 billion in 2020, including minority shareholders' rights.

The bank's net interest income decreased to EGP 24.97 billion in 2021 from EGP 25.17 billion in the earlier year, according to a bourse filing on Tuesday.

As for the standalone businesses, the bank's net profits amounted to EGP 13.42 billion last year, up from EGP 10.299 billion in 2020.

Meanwhile, the board has recommended a cash dividend distribution of EGP 1.36 per share.

It is noteworthy to mention that during the first nine months (9M) of 2021, CIB reported consolidated net profits of EGP 9.87 billion, up by 34.5% year-on-year (YoY) from EGP 7.34 billion.
