Cairo - Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) issued treasury bonds (T-bonds) at a combined value of EGP 8 billion through two offerings on Monday, 17 October, according to official data.
Holding a five-year tenor until 13 October 2027, the first tranche stood at EGP 500 million. Meanwhile, the second issue was valued at EGP 7.50 billion and will mature in three years on 4 October 2025.
Additionally, the CBE offered zero-coupon T-bonds worth EGP 6 billion through one auction, carrying a maturity period of 1.5 years until 16 April 2024.
Last week, the central bank auctioned T-bonds at a value of EGP 250 million through one issue and zero-coupon T-bonds worth EGP 5.50 billion through one offering.
