CBE announces EGP 70bn debt instruments on Monday

Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) auctioned treasury bills (T-bills) at a combined value of EGP 65 billion through two tranches on Monday, 11 May.

The first offering stood at EGP 30 billion and will mature in 91 days on 11 August 2026, according to official data.

Holding a tenor of 273 days until 9 February 2027, the second tranche was valued at EGP 35 billion.

The CBE issued treasury bonds (T-bonds) worth EGP 5 billion, with a five-year tenor until 31 March 2031.

On 10 May, the financial authority unveiled debt instruments at an aggregated value of EGP 85 billion
