Mubasher: The indices of Boursa Kuwait opened Sunday’s trading session on a mixed note.
By 9:40 am Kuwait time, the price index inched up 0.1% or 6.4 points to the level of 6.629.87 points.
Meanwhile, both the weighted and Kuwait-15 indices slipped 0.05% and 0.21%, respectively.
The financial services sector topped rising sectors with 0.5% on the back of Credit Rating and Collection (Tahssilat) which surged 16.7%.
Likewise, the oil and gas segment added 0.42%, bolstered by Senergy which gained 3.5%.
Similarly, the communication sector grew 0.37%, backed by Kuwait Telecommunication Co (Viva) which rose 1.6%.
On the other hand, the material sector led declining sectors with 0.91%, while the banks sector inched down 0.02%, pressured by Gulf Bank of Kuwait (GBK) which shed 0.4%.
Trading volume reached 14.24 million shares exchanged through 595 transactions at a liquidity of KWD 2.34 million.
Mobile Telecommunications (ZAIN), down 1.74%, was the most active in terms of liquidity with KWD 660,000.
Additionally, about 3.9 million shares were traded on Kuwait Investment, which levelled up 4.9%.
