Kuwait – Mubasher: Boursa Kuwait witnessed a negative performance in the week ended Thursday, 6 July, after its indices collectively fell.
The price index fell 1.22% closing at 6,680.13 points from 6,762.82 points in the previous week, while the weighted and Kuwait-15 indices retreated 0.31% and 0.53%, respectively.
Market capitalisation was down slightly by 0.6% or KWD 170 million ($559.6 million) to KWD 27.09 billion ($89.17 billion) compared KWD 27.26 billion ($89.73 billion) in the week ended 29 June.
Trading volume rose 236.14% to 242.37 million shares from 72.11 million shares in the previous week, while turnover surged 230.46% to KWD 46.38 million from 14.03 million the week before.
A total of 12,100 transactions were executed in the week ended 6 July, rising 228.76%, compared to 3,700 deals in the previous week.
Trading activities were significantly higher last week as the preceding one witnessed only two sessions due to the Eid Al-Fitr holiday.
