Mubasher: The indices of Boursa Kuwait started Wednesday’s session with a grouped increase; the benchmark price index added 0.56% or 37 points to 6,661.16 points.
By 9:57am Kuwait time, both the weighted and Kuwait-15 indices went up 0.82% and 1%, respectively.
Technology companies topped ten gainers with 1.8%, followed by the financial services sector with a rise of 0.95%.
Boursa Kuwait’s banking segment levelled up 0.95%, backed by the 3.5% gain of Ithmaar.
Meanwhile, the consumer goods sector was the only decliner with 0.5%, dragged by Danah Al Safat and Mezzan Holding which lost 1.34% and 0.91%, respectively.
Metal and Recycling was the top winner with a jump of 20%, while Specialities Group led losers with 11.8%.
Boursa Kuwait’s turnover amounted to KWD 6.7 million after 36.4 million shares were traded through 1,390 transactions.
Kuwait Finance House (KFH) posted the highest liquidity of KWD 1.4 million. The stock went up 0.51%.
Ithmaar was the most active stock on which 5.77 million shares were exchanged.
