Boursa Kuwait indices mixed at Sunday’s close

Mubasher: The benchmark price index of Boursa Kuwait added 0.38%, or 24.2 points, to end Sunday’s session at 6,355.9 points.

The weighted index went up 0.14% to close above 400 points for the second session in December.

Meanwhile, the Kuwait-15 index edged down 0.04%, or 0.4 points, to close at 909.7 points; the first decline after three sessions in the green.

The main index is being supported at 6,215 points, targeting 6,430 points, capital market analyst Mohamad Al Anzi told Mubasher.

Al Anzi noted that the weighted index has a support level at 395 points, with a target to 402 points.

Meanwhile, the Kuwiat-15 index has a support at 897 points, with the targets 913 points and 916 points, respectively.

The oil and gas segment topped seven gainers with 2.5%, backed by IPG which added 10.22%.

Telecom companies rose by 1.71% in line with the 5.83% gain of Viva.

The banking segment also added 0.83%, endorsed by Ithmaar and Warba which went up 5.9% and 2.2%, respectively.

Meanwhile, the financial services sector led four decliners with 0.4%, dragged by National International Holding which lost 15.2% to be the top loser.

Boursa Kuwait’s turnover shrank by 13.9% to KWD 11.3 million on Sunday compared to KWD 13.12 million in the previous session after the trading volume increased by 6.2% to 87.87 million shares from 82.77 million.

Kuwait Finance House (KFH) recorded the highest liquidity of KWD 2.17 million, rising 0.69%.

Inovest, which is also listed on Bahrain Bourse (BHB), was the most active stock on which 14.34 million shares were traded, up 1%.
