Boursa Kuwait indices close in green Wednesday

Kuwait – Mubasher: The indices of Boursa Kuwait levelled up at the end of Wednesday’s trading session, supported by an increase in nine sectors, led by consumer staples and oil.

The price index added 0.58% or 39.33 points to 6,798.73 points, while the weighted and Kuwait-15 indices grew 0.17% and 0.28%, respectively.

Consumer staples grew 2.01%, supported by Palms Agro Production surging 7.84%.

The oil and gas sector increased 0.98% as Energy House Holding added 4.76%.

On the other hand, three sectors declined led by the banks sector with 0.17%, pressured by a 6.25% decrease in the National Bank of Kuwait (NBK).

First Takaful Insurance topped gainers with 9.09%, while Kuwait Building Materials Manufacturing topped losers by 6.85%.

Turnover increased slightly to KWD 12.61 million on Wednesday from KWD 12.42 million on Tuesday, while trading volume went down to 103.8 million shares from 109.41 million shares.

Ithmaar Holding led in terms of trading volume with 7.1 million shares, while Zain led in terms of liquidity with KWD 2.1 million.
