Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has fully linked issuing boarding passes for domestic flights operated by national airlines with the health status in Tawakkalna application.
The passes will therefore be issued electronically to passengers whose status in the application is immune by receiving their first vaccine dose or by recovery, or those with no record of infection, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Sunday.
Last month, GACA required all airlines operating at Saudi Arabian airports to record the immunisation data of non-Saudi travellers and those from exempted groups on the online portal dedicated for vaccine registration.
This followed the Kingdom’s decision to reopen air, sea, and land borders since mid-May.
A recent report by Almosafer showed that domestic tourism in Saudi Arabia remained strong after the resumption of international flights. Saudi international travellers, meanwhile, have chosen the UAE, Egypt, Bahrain, and Qatar amongst their regional destinations of interest.
