Blue chips push UAE equities to rise at open

Dubai-Mubasher: The UAE stock market opened in the green on Monday, backed by blue chips.

Dubai Financial Market (DFM) grew 0.37% or 13.46 points to reach 3,107.36 points by 11:00am UAE time.

Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) rose 0.45% or 18.99 points to reach 4,227.92 points.

The UAE markets are likely to witness profit-taking on Monday amid investors’ anticipation of changed in oil prices and global stocks, analysts told Mubasher.

In DFM, the investment sector topped gainers with a 1.8% rise, followed by the consumer staples sector at 1.67%.

The real estate sector jumped 0.46% after Arabtec Holding increased 1.7%.

The market saw trading of 351.85 million shares through 3,410 transactions, with turnover of AED 291.57 million.

As for ADX, TAQA was the best performer after adding 4.8%, followed by First Gulf Bank (FGB) and Etisalat at 0.8% and 0.6% in a row. Aldar Properties tailed the risers list after inching down 0.4%

Turnover reached AED 125.7 million after trading 147.97 million shares through 1,110 transactions.
