Riyadh-Mubasher: Saudi Binladin Group resumed working on Mecca's Grand Mosque, one of the builder’s projects that had been suspended, according to a source.

The suspension earlier imposed on a number of the construction giant’s projects had been lifted completely, the Mubasher source said.

The company stopped the layoff policy it implemented recently, the source added.

Binladin, one of the Middle East's largest builders, had been carrying out a programme to downsize 2-5% of  the Arabian group’s employment. The source stated that the company runs 400 projects, including the Mecca's Grand Mosque in which a crane collapsed last September.

The source noted that 80% of the laid-off workers received all their financial dues.

Workers in Jeddah airport has received four months of overdue salaries. However, Binladin still owes them payments of three other months.
