Bahrain Bourse rises on insurance, banks gains

Mubasher: The Bahrain Bourse ended Tuesday’s trading session in green on the back insurance and commercial banks sectors.

Bahrain All Share Index (BSEX) went up 0.05% or 0.68 points, and closed at the level of 1,308.49 points.

The insurance sector gained 2.62% on the back of Bahrain National Holding which led the session’s gainers and surged 8.47%.

Banks index added 0.69% on the back of Ithmaar Holding which jumped 8.11%, followed by Al Salam Bank with 1.77%, Gulf Commercial Bank with 1.12%, and Ahli United Bank (AUB) with 0.69%.

On the other hand, the services sector slipped 0.02%, as Seef Properties, and Nass Corporation fell by 1.87% and 1.37% respectively.

Similarly, the investment lost sector 1.2%, as Arab Banking Corporation (ABC) and GFH declined by 3.85% and 1.32% respectively.

Traded volumes increased to 2.49 million shares compared to 2.2 million shares last session, while traded values declined to BHD 616,050 down from BHD 955,000 on Monday.

AUB was the most active in trade, with a volume of 780,000 shares and a total turnover of BHD 565,190.
