Bahrain Bourse rises in week amid higher liquidity

Mubasher: The main index of Bahrain Bourse (BHB) went up 1.29% or 16.88 points to reach 1,323.71 points by the week ended 16 February as compared to the week ended 9 February.

Both the banks and services segments were the two gainers this week with 2.74% and 0.58% respectively.

Meanwhile, the hotel and tourism sector led four decliners with 1.05%.

Ithmaar Holding was the winner during this week by a gain of 19.44%, followed by Khaleeji Commercial Bank which rose by 9.47%.

ABC was the loser this week with a loss of 5.13%, followed by Seef Properties which retreated by 3.67%.

Liquidity increased by 67.09% to total BHD 5.68 million this week from BHD 3.40 million in the past week, after trading volume grew by 45.32% to reach 24 million shares that were traded through 365 transactions.
