Riyadh – Mubasher: BAAN Holding Group’s board of directors accepted the resignation of non-executive board member Salem bin Ali Al Shahrani on 4 October 2026.
Al Shahrani also stepped down from his positions on the company’s Nomination and Remuneration Committee and the Executive Committee.
The resignation, which was submitted on 2 October, follows Al Shahrani’s appointment as CEO at another company operating in the hotel and Hajj services sector.
Such a move was intended to prevent potential conflicts of interest and uphold corporate governance principles, as the new role involves activities similar to those of BAAN Holding Group.
Al Shahrani had served as a member of the board since 19 April 2024. The board of directors expressed its appreciation for his contributions and efforts during his tenure with the group.
The company did not immediately name a successor for the vacated board and committee seats. It recently appointed Ahmed Ibrahim Al Rabiah as an external member of the audit committee.
