Riyadh – Mubasher: The average price of steel in Saudi Arabia maintained its upward trend in January 2021 amidst more than a 40% annual leap in the prices of most types.
The per-tonne average price of steel hiked by 39.5% or SAR 1,007 yearly during January 2021, reaching SAR 3,558 and hitting its highest since September 2008, according to data collected by Mubasher based on official figures.
On a monthly basis, the per-tonne average price was up by 18.3% in January 2021.
Cement prices
The average price for a 50-kilogram cement bag stood at SAR 14.11 last January, compared with SAR 13.32 in the same month in 2020 and SAR 14.12 in December 2020.
Furthermore, the price of a tonne of cement in the kingdom amounted to SAR 304.2 by the end of last month, compared to SAR 273 in January 2020 and SAR 305 in December 2020.
